This course was developed with Rue Tikker, DPM. Rue took over the practice of John Martin Hiss, MD, DO, who operated the world's largest foot and ankle clinic in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Hiss developed his treatment and diagnosis of the foot, ankle and leg with Dr. Still just before Still's death. The treatment remains largely unchanged from Dr. Still’s original. Rue then went on to give over 300,000 treatments in his 50-year career and took me under his wing to continue teaching Dr. Hiss’ work. Common foot and ankle injuries and their treatments and causes are explained, as well as taping injuries after treatment and injections for painful feet. You will learn how to diagnose and treat acute and chronic ankle sprains, bunions, tired achy feet, metatarsalgia, Morton's neuroma, and plantar fasciitis. This course receives rave reviews each time it is offered.
Charlie’s personal experience: I fell off a ladder at age 23, and, with my feet at a height of about 8’ up, landed standing up on the rungs of the ladder as it hit the floor. As far as I know I didn’t break anything, but by the time I got into osteopathic school I had foot problems. I had many of the world's best osteopaths treat me over the years and things improved, but never resolved. Rue treated me for three minutes in his living room the first day I studied with him and he did more in that three minutes than the rest of the treatment over 15 years combined. I know then that I needed to study with him, learn everything I could and pass that work along.
